APICULTURE :


Bees are one of the many insects in the world that can produce something that is beneficial to all of us. We obtain honey from these bees and as we all know, honey is an important food for human beings. Since ancient times, honey is used for treating several diseases, and it is an antioxidant, therefore beekeeping is an important activity.


Apiculture Meaning

“Apiculture is the scientific method of rearing honeybees.  

The word ‘apiculture’ comes from the Latin word ‘apis’ meaning bee. So, apiculture or beekeeping is the care and management of honey bees for the production of honey and wax. In this method, bees are bred commercially in apiaries, an area where a lot of beehives can be placed. Usually, apiaries are set up in areas where there are sufficient bee pastures – such as areas that have flowering plants.


Products obtained :

Bees are mainly reared for their honey. Besides that, we also obtain beeswax through beekeeping. Bees produce honey from the sugary secretions of plants. Although honey is an important ingredient in many food dishes, beeswax holds a lot of commercial significance too. It is used in the cosmetic and medical industry, as well as a coating for cheese, and as a food additive. It is also used as the main component for making candles, preparing polishes for the shoe, furniture, etc.

Common varieties of bees

The beekeepers mostly take care of only those bee species whose names start with “Apis”- as they are the only species which produce honey. Common species of honey bees that are reared are as follows:


Apis dorsata: It is also referred to as the rock bee. It is a giant bee and produces about 38 to 40 kg of honey per colony.

Apis indica: It is also referred to as the Indian bee. It can be easily domesticated and is most commonly used for honey production. The annual yield of honey is 2 to 5 kg per colony.

Apis florea: It is also referred to as the little bee. It rarely stings and thus honey extraction from its hive is easy. It produces about 1 kg of honey per colony per year.

Apis mellifera: It is also referred to as the Italian bee. This species has a very typical dance routine to indicate food availability, and like the little bee, stings less. As the common name suggests, this species is not local. However, because of the high amount of honey produced, it is often reared by beekeepers.


MUSHROOM CULTIVATION :


Mushroom cultivation, also known as fungiculture, involves growing edible fungi, primarily mushrooms, on a variety of substrates. The process typically involves composting, spawning, casing, pinning, harvesting, and preservation. Different types of mushrooms, like oyster and shiitake, can be cultivated using various methods, including growing on straw, sawdust, or logs. 

Steps in Mushroom Cultivation:

1. Composting:

This phase involves creating a nutrient-rich substrate for the mushrooms to grow on. This can be done naturally (using materials like straw, horse manure, and poultry manure) or synthetically (using bran, straw, urea, and gypsum). 

2. Spawning:

Mycelium (the vegetative part of the fungus) is introduced into the prepared substrate, initiating the growth of the mushroom. 

3. Casing:

A layer of casing material (like a mixture of peat moss and vermiculite) is applied to the substrate to encourage the development of fruiting bodies (mushrooms). 

4. Pinning:

This is the stage where small mushroom "pins" start to appear. 

5. Harvesting:

The mature mushrooms are carefully harvested, typically by twisting and pulling them from the substrate. 

6. Preservation:

Mushrooms can be preserved through various methods like drying, canning, or freezing. 

Factors Affecting Mushroom Growth:

Temperature:

Different mushroom species have specific temperature requirements for both vegetative growth (spawn run) and fruiting. 

Humidity:

Maintaining proper humidity levels is crucial for successful mushroom cultivation. 

Substrate:

The choice of substrate (e.g., straw, sawdust, logs) depends on the mushroom species and desired method of cultivation. 

Light:

While mushrooms don't require light for growth, it can play a role in fruiting for some species. 

Air circulation:

Proper ventilation is important for gas exchange and preventing the buildup of harmful gases. 

Types of Mushrooms and Cultivation Methods: 

White Button Mushrooms: These are commonly cultivated in controlled environments, often using synthetic compost. 

Oyster Mushrooms: Known for their ease of cultivation, they can be grown on straw, sawdust, or even coffee grounds. 

Shiitake Mushrooms: These are often cultivated on logs or supplemented sawdust blocks. 


Profitability:

Mushroom farming can be a profitable venture, with oyster and shiitake mushrooms being particularly popular choices for commercial cultivation. The potential earnings can vary depending on factors like the scale of production, market conditions, and the specific mushroom species being cultivated. 


CUNI CULTURE:

  • It can be grow on roughage diet solely without affecting productive and reproductive performance. Rabbit cannot compete with human beings for food grains like goat, pig and bird. 
  •  Reproductive capacity of rabbits is very high i.e. rabbit can breed around the year and one female can produce 30-50 kits (young ones of rabbit) per year.
  •  It can be grown in wide range of climatic conditions and sometimes resistant to diseases. 
  • It can be marketed at 90-100 days of age. 
  • Rabbit meat is wholesome; tasty which is rich in protein, vitamins and certain minerals and low in cholesterol. 
  • It fits very well in integrated farming system.
Scope of Rabbit farming 

Rabbit farming is not only profitable but enjoyable too. Rabbit farming can also provide a very valuable additional source of income in the rural areas. One can grow a rabbit as a pet and also grow in small land without much investment.
 Rabbits are a cute and small sized animal. They are soft and therefore are a good source of meat. Rabbits are also exported to other countries by dealers. 
It is a business with low investments and high profits. There is a high demand for fur obtained from Angora rabbits in India as well as in foreign countries due to which it can be a successful business venture. Rabbit’s meat is also consumed by a small population in India which can further add to the income obtained from fur marketing.
Breeds of Rabbits

 There are numerous breeds available in the world. Some of them are highly productive. Some breeds are very suitable for farming in India according to our weather and climate. Most productive and suitable rabbit breeds are New Zealand White, New Zealand Red, White Giant, Grey Giant, Flemish Giant, Californian, Dutch and Soviet Chinchilla. 

Feeding of Rabbits 

Nutritious food must be fed to the farm rabbits for proper growth and good health. Grains, legumes and green fodders like Lucerne, Agathi, Alfalfa, berseem, grass, tender banana, cane and bamboo leaves, cutup pieces of the stalks of plants such as maize or banana, roots such as cassava, yams, carrots and cabbage leaves can be fed. Some amount of concentrate feed should also be fed. For 1 Kg body weight of rabbit, about 40 grams of concentrate food and 40 grams of green fodder are required.

Care of Kits (young ones)

The new born kits are blind and have no hair on their body. 
 The mother gives milk to young ones once or twice a day. The nest box should be removed after 5 weeks of kindling (birth process). 
 If the bedding becomes wet it should be replaced by a fresh and clean one. Weaning should be done at 5th or 6th week after kindling. 
Identification of sex of young rabbits 

To determine the sex of the rabbit, use your forefinger and middle finger to press down the vent area just in front of the anus. In both the doe and buck, the area will protrude. 
The doe will display a slit or central line running up and down. Each side of the slit will be banded in pink. 
The buck, on the other hand will display pink tube with a pointed end that resembles a bullet. 

POULTRY FARMING:

Poultry farming mainly refers to growing and protecting various types of domestic birds commercially.” 

What Is Poultry Farming?
In poultry farming, rearing and management of fowls are done for two purposes-
Production of the eggs.
Production of meat or flesh.
In order to meet the quantity and quality requirements, a variety of strains (breeds) are raised. These improved strains include layers which produce eggs and broilers that provide meat.

Since poultry farming is a profit-making business, its primary focus is on maximum production with less expenditure. For this reason, cross-breeding of local and foreign breeds was started. Cross-breeding aims for raising breeds with desirable traits.

For example, Indian Aseel/Asil and foreign Leghorn breeds were bred to raise variety of breeds.

Crossbreeding in poultry farming helped to meet the commercial purpose and management easily. They focused on:

Quantity and quality of chicks

Dwarf broiler parents for more chick production

Adaptation/tolerance to high temperature

Low maintenance and minimum feeding requirements

Farm Management

Poultry farming involves both egg layers and broilers. The housing, feeding and growing conditions for broilers and egg layers are different. For high yield, good management practices are required.

Shelter

Poultry birds are needed to be maintained in a strictly hygienic manner with proper housing. A good and clean environment with proper ventilation should be provided. The farm should be disease and pest free. Layers require regular temperature.



Food

Poultry farming involves both egg layers and broilers. Both these groups have different food requirements according to their farming purposes.


Since broilers are raised for meat, they are fed with protein and fat-rich food. Vitamin supplements help them for a good growth rate. They are regularly checked and good care is taken to avoid death and other infectious diseases. The egg layer’s rations are rich in vitamins A and K which help in more egg production.

Disease Management

For successful poultry farming, a disease-free condition is important. Fowls are vulnerable to numerous diseases. The cause of the disease may be from different modes of infections from viruses, bacteria, fungus, and other agents, or even food deficiency or nutritional deficiency. Hence, regular and proper cleaning, sanitation and spraying of pesticides and disinfectants should be performed to keep the surroundings clean, tidy and also free from all microbes. Along with this, all domestic birds are vaccinated to control the disease and to increase in backyard birds. Vaccination is commonly used a biological preparation that helps in preventing the chance of occurrence and spreading of infections.

 PRINCIPLES OF ASSESSMENT PRACTICES

Assessment processes :

Assessment information is collected to determine students’ achievement and their learning needs. It provides a basis for the analysis of progress and achievement of students over time and assists the diagnosis of individual learning needs.



a) FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE OF ASSESSMENT:

1)PRINCIPLES RELATED TO SELECTION OF METHODS FOR ASSESSMENT :

● Assessment methods should be developed or chosen so that inferences drawn from the knowledge , skills , attitude and behaviors possessed by each student are valid and not open to misinterpretation.

● Assessment methods should be clearly related to the goals and objectives of instructions,and be compatible with the instructional approaches used.

● Consideration should be given to the consequences of the decisions to be made in light of the obtained information.

● Should be used to ensure comprehensive and consistent indications of student performance.

● It is better to use more than one assessment method to ensure the comprehensiveness of the performance.

● Assessment method should be suited to the backgrounds and prior experiences of students.

● Content and language should not cause any controversy.

2)PRINCIPLES RELATED TO COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENT INFORMATION :

● Appropriate and consistent interaction with students should be needed for collecting assessment information.

● Students should be told why assessment information is being collected and how this information will be used.

● Assessment procedure should be used under conditions suitable to its purpose and form.

● In assessment involving observations, checklists or rating scales the number of characteristics to be assessed at one time should be small enough and concretely described so that the observations can be made accurately.

● The directions provided to students should be clear, complete and appropriate for the ability , age and grade level of the students.

● In assessment involving selection items (eg:true-false, multiple choice),the direction should encourage students to answer all items without a threat of penalty.

3)PRINCIPLES RELATED TO JUDGING AND SCORING OF STUDENT PERFORMANCE :

● A procedure for scoring should be prepared to guide the process of judging the quality of a performance or product, the appropriateness of an attitude or behavior, or the correctness of an answer.

● Students should be told how their responses or the information they provide will be judged or scored.

● Care should be taken to ensure that results are not influenced by factors that are not relevant to the purpose of the assessment.

● Comments formed as part of scoring should be based on the responses made by the students and presented in a way that students can understand and use them.

● Any changes made during scoring should be based on a demonstrated problem with the initial scoring procedure. The modified procedure should then be used to restore all previously scored responses.

● An appeal process should be described to students at the beginning of each school year or course of instruction that they may use to appeal a result.


4)PRINCIPLES RELATED TO SUMMARISATION AND INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS :

● Procedures for summarizing and interpreting results for a reporting period should be guided by a written policy.

● The way in which summary comments and grades are formulated and interpreted should be explained to students and their parents .

● The individual results used and the process followed in deriving summary comments and grades should be described in sufficient detail so that the meaning of a summary comment or grade is clear.

● The meaning of a summary comment or grade is clear and different kinds of results should be graded separately.

● Summary comments and grades should be based on more than one assessment result and each result should have its intended emphasis or weight.

● Interpretations of results should be made with due regard for limitations, problems encountered etc in the method used, collecting, judging and scoring information.

● Assessment results that will be combined into summary comments and grades should be stored in a way that ensures their accuracy at the time they are summarized and interpreted.

● The basis for interpretation should be carefully described and justified.

● Interpretations of assessment results should take account of the background and learning experiences of the students.


Methods of interpreting the results :


1. Norm-referenced Interpretation

It describes student’s performance or progress in relation to others of the same peer group, age or ability. It may involve ranking or scaling a pupil to help with streaming classes. It may look at cross-school achievements to compare achievement in particular groups, subjects and years with local and national levels of attainment.

Examples:

1.Diya’s score in the periodical exams is below the mean.

2. Ram ranked 5th in the unit test in Physics.

3. Sheela’s percentile rank in the Math achievement test is 88.


2. Criterion-referenced Interpretation

It describes about the student performance according to a specified domain or clearly defined learning tasks e.g. divide three-digit whole numbers correctly and accurately, multiply binomial terms correctly. It is concerned with national examination and other assessment bodies. It is used in the assessment of vocational and academic qualifications. Results are given on a pass/fail, competent/not competent basis. Results are conclusive and usually open to review.

Examples:

1. Helen can construct a pie graph with 75% accuracy

2. Heera scored 7 out of 10 in the spelling test

3. Riya can encode an article with no more than 5 errors in spelling


5)PRINCIPLES RELATED TO REPORTING OF ASSESSMENT FINDINGS :

● The reporting system should be guided by written policy which is consistent with applicable laws and with basic principles of fairness and Human Rights and its confidentiality should be ensured.

● The report should contain a description of the goals and objectives of instruction.

● Report should be complete in their descriptions of the strengths and weaknesses of students so that strength can be build upon and problem areas addressed.

● The reporting system should provide discussions with teachers, parents and students.

● An appeal process should be described to students and parents so that they may use to appeal a report.

● The report should be clear , accurate, and of practical value to the audiences for whom they are intended.

b) GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF ASSESSMENT :

● Before selecting or developing the assessment procedure the intended learning goals should be clearly specified. Assessment procedure should be selected on the basis of its objectivity, accuracy or convenience.

● Comprehensive assessment requires the use of a variety of assessment procedure.

● Awareness of the limitations of assessment instruments or procedures is needed to use them properly.

● Assessment procedure should be fair to everyone.

● Criteria for judging successful performance should be clearly specified.

● Assessment procedure should be valid, reliable and consistent.

● Assessment for improved performance involves feedback and reflection.

● Good assessment provides useful information to teachers and parents on student achievement.

● The instructional relevance of the assessment procedure should be considered.

● The amount of assessed work should be manageable.

● Formative and summative assessment should be included in each programme.

● Information about assessment should be explicit, accessible and transparent.

● Assessment should be inclusive and equitable.

● Assessment is a means to an end, not an end in itself ie., some useful purpose may be served and the user must be clearly aware of that.

Reliability

Reliability of a tool refers to the degree of consistency and accuracy with which it measures what it is intended to measure. If the evaluation gives more or less the same result every time it is used, such evaluation is said to be reliable.

Validity

A test is said to be valid when it measures what it needs to measure. It should fulfill the objectives for which it is developed. Validity of a test refers to it's truthfulness. Suppose you want to know whether a Numerical reasoning test is valid. If it really measure the reasoning ability, the test can be said to be valid.

Objectivity

A tool is said to be objective if it is free from personal bias of interpreting its scope as well as in scoring the responses. Objectivity of a test refers to two aspects:

• Item objectivity

• Scoring objectivity

Item objectivity :

It means the items of the test must need a definite single answer. If the answer is scored by different examiner the marks would not vary.

Scoring objectivity :

It means that by whosoever scored, the test would fetch the same score.

Practicability

The test or evaluation system should also be as practical as possible. To meet this criteria, it should be easy to prepare, easy to administer, easy in scoring etc.

Comprehensiveness

It refers to its length and extensiveness as to cover the complete course or learning experiences to be tested. It should be competent enough to test all the stipulated objectives in terms of knowledge, understanding, skills, abilities, interests and attitudes etc.


● Assessment should be valid. Validity ensures that assessment tasks and associated criteria effectively measure student attainment of the intended learning outcomes at the appropriate level.

● Assessment should be reliable and consistent. There is a need for assessment to be reliable and this requires clear and consistent processes for the setting, marking, grading and moderation of assignments.

● Information about assessment should be explicit, accessible and transparent. Clear, accurate, consistent and timely information on 

assessment tasks and procedures should be made available to students, staff and other external assessors or examiners.

● Assessment should be inclusive and equitable as far as is possible without compromising academic standards, inclusive and equitable assessment should ensure that tasks and procedures do not disadvantage any group or individual.

● Assessment should be an integral part of programme design and should relate directly to the programme aims and learning outcomes. Assessment tasks should primarily reflect the nature of the discipline or subject but should also ensure that students have the opportunity to develop a range of generic skills and capabilities.

● The amount of assessed work should be manageable.The scheduling of assignments and the amount of assessed work required should provide a reliable and valid profile of achievement without overloading staff or students.

● Formative and summative assessment should be included in each programme. Formative and summative assessment should be incorporated into programmes to ensure that the purposes of assessment are adequately addressed. Many programmes may also wish to include diagnostic assessment.

● Timely feedback that promotes learning and facilitates improvement should be an integral part of the assessment process. Students are entitled to feedback on submitted formative assessment tasks, and on summative tasks, where appropriate. The nature, extent and timing of feedback for each assessment task should be made clear to students in advance.

● Staff development policy and strategy should include assessment. All those involved in the assessment of students must be competent to undertake their roles and responsibilities.

PRINCIPLES OF GOOD PRACTICE FOR ASSESSING STUDENT LEARNING :


1. The assessment of student learning begins with educational values. Assessment is not an end in itself but a vehicle for educational improvement. Its effective practice, then, begins with and enacts a vision of the kinds of learning we most value for students and strive to help them achieve. Educational values should drive not only what we choose to assess but also how we do so. Where questions about educational mission and values are skipped over, assessment threatens to be an exercise in measuring what's easy, rather than a process of improving what we really care about.

2. Assessment is most effective when it reflects an understanding of learning as multidimensional, integrated, and revealed in performance over time. Learning is a complex process. It entails not only what students know but what they can do with what they know; it involves not only knowledge and abilities but values, attitudes, and habits of mind that affect both academic success and performance beyond the classroom. Assessment should reflect these understandings by employing a diverse array of methods including those that call for actual performance, using them over time so as to reveal change, growth, and increasing degrees of integration. Such an approach aims for a more complete and accurate picture of learning, and therefore firmer bases for improving our students' educational experience.

3. Assessment works best when the programs it seeks to improve have clear, explicitly stated purposes. Assessment is a goal-oriented process. It entails comparing educational performance with educational purposes and expectations-these derived from the institution's mission, from faculty intentions in program and course design, and from knowledge of students' own goals. Where program purposes lack specificity or agreement, assessment as a process pushes a campus toward clarity about where to aim and what standards to apply; assessment also prompts attention to where and how program goals will be taught and learned. Clear, shared, implementable goals are the cornerstone for assessment that is focused and useful.

4. Assessment requires attention to outcomes but also and equally to the experiences that lead to those outcomes. Information about outcomes is of high importance; where students "end up" matters greatly. But to improve outcomes, we need to know about student experience along the way-about the curricula, teaching, and kind of student effort that lead to particular outcomes. Assessment can help understand which students learn best under what conditions; with such knowledge comes the capacity to improve the whole of their learning.

5. Assessment works best when it is ongoing, not episodic. Assessment is a process whose power is cumulative. Though isolated, "one-shot" assessment can be better than none, improvement is best fostered when assessment entails a linked series of activities undertaken over time. This may mean tracking the progress of individual students, or of cohorts of students; it may mean collecting the same examples of student performance or using the same instrument semester after semester. The point is to monitor progress toward intended goals in a spirit of continuous improvement. Along the way, the assessment process itself should be evaluated and refined in light of emerging insights.

6. Assessment fosters wider improvement when representatives from across the educational community are involved. Student learning is a campus-wide responsibility, and assessment is a way of enacting that responsibility. Thus, while assessment efforts may start small, the aim over time is to involve people from across the educational community. Faculty play an especially important role, but assessment's questions can't be fully addressed without participation by student-affairs educators, librarians, administrators, and students. Assessment may also involve individuals from beyond the campus (alumni/ae, trustees, employers) whose experience can enrich the sense of appropriate aims and standards for learning. Thus, understood, assessment is not a task for small groups of experts but a collaborative activity; its aim is wider, better-informed attention to student learning by all parties with a stake in its improvement.

7. Assessment makes a difference when it begins with issues of use and illuminates questions that people really care about. Assessment recognizes the value of information in the process of improvement. But to be useful, information must be connected to issues or questions that people really care about. This implies assessment approaches that produce evidence that relevant parties will find credible, suggestive, and applicable to decisions that need to be made. It means thinking in advance about how the information will be used, and by whom. The point of assessment is not to gather data and return "results"; it is a process that starts with the questions of decision-makers, that involves them in the gathering and interpreting of data, and that informs and helps guide continuous improvement.

8. Assessment is most likely to lead to improvement when it is part of a larger set of conditions that promote change. Assessment alone changes little. Its greatest contribution comes on campuses where the quality of teaching and learning is visibly valued and worked at. On such campuses, the push to improve educational performance is a visible and primary goal of leadership; improving the quality of undergraduate education is central to the institution's planning, budgeting, and personnel decisions. On such campuses, information about learning outcomes is seen as an integral part of decision making, and avidly sought.

9. Through assessment, educators meet responsibilities to students and to the public. There is compelling public stake in education. As educators, we have a responsibility to the publics that support or depend on us to provide information about the ways in which our students meet goals and expectations. But that responsibility goes beyond the reporting of such information; our deeper obligation-to ourselves, our students, and society-is to improve. Those to whom educators are accountable have a corresponding obligation to support such attempts at improvement.



PRINCIPLES RELATED TO SELECTION OF METHODS FOR ASSESSMENT :


There is a wealth of assessment methods used in higher education to assess students' achievements, but how to choose?

The primary goal is to choose a method which most effectively assesses the objectives of the unit of study. In addition, choice of assessment methods should be aligned with the overall aims of the program, and may include the development of disciplinary skills (such as critical evaluation or problem solving) and support the development of vocational competencies (such as particular communication or team skills.)

Hence, when choosing assessment items, it is useful to have one eye on the immediate task of assessing student learning in a particular unit of study, and another eye on the broader aims of the program and the qualities of the graduating student. Ideally this is something you do with your academic colleagues so there is a planned assessment strategy across a program. When considering assessment methods, it is particularly useful to think first about what qualities or abilities you are seeking to engender in the learners.

Nightingale et al (1996) provide eight broad categories of learning outcomes which are listed below. Within each category some suitable methods are suggested.

1. Thinking critically and making judgements

ATTENDANCE REGISTER FOR STAFF

 Learning Objectives

Students will be able to distinguish attendance register for staff from attendance register for students.


Introduction 

  • Attendance register is a tool to record the regularity of a teacher, employee on a day today basis.
  • It is used for payroll / salary purposes except for students.
  • This is generally kept in the principal or supervisor's office.
  • It should show the time of arrival and departure.
  • Head teacher checks and signs at the end of each month and notifies the PEO of unapproved absences.
  • Previously attendance registers were physically maintained on paper/books, now people started maintaining records on computers.

Types of Attendance Register :

Basically three types attendance register;

  1. Employee attendance register
  2. Student attendance register
  3. Timesheet attendance register

 Staff/Teachers Attendance Register:

  • Fully automated teacher's attendance register in excel, open office calc and google sheets to manage and monitor for school staff.
  • This template is helpful to school admins, principals, vice principals and owners of school to keep an eye on teaching staff.

 Types Of Leaves:

Generally there are eight types of leaves as follows;

Holiday (H) :

Includes national holidays, weekly day-offs, and festive holidays. Employer doesn't deduct any amount from his or her salary.

Earned/ Privilege Leave:

Are mandatory yearly leave than an employee earns while working. Employees avail such leave without any salary deduction. Has to obtain prior approval from the employer.

Casual Leave :

An employee can avail casual leave for short durations with prior intimation to the employer.

Sick Leave:

Employers allow a number of sick leaves per year, 12 days per year ie; one SL per month.

Maternity Leave:

Usually, maternity leaves 12-26 weeks; a female can extend additional unpaid leave of 16 months.

Half Pay Leave:

Usually available only to government employers who completed one year of service.

Quarantine Leave:

If the employee or his family members suffers a hazardous infectious disease.

Study Leave(Sabbatical Leave):

An employer grants study or sabbatical leave to employees to update his/her knowledge and experience.

Contents of Staff Attendance Register Excel Template:

  • Total 13 sheets.
  • Monthly attendance record - 12 sheets.
  • Cumulative yearly summary - 1 sheet.

Detail Section:

Include name, designation, type (permanent/temporary).


Cumulative Yearly Attendance Summary Sheet:

  • complete overview of the whole year, sheet fetches data from monthly sheets.
  • Helpful to avail attendance and balance SL/CL - without getting into any clumsy manual calculations.
  • Consist of columns; total working days, P, HD, present total, total absent, total LWP, balance CL and SL.

Attendance Section:

Present/Leave/Holidays - 'P' for full day present, 'L' for full day leave (unpaid leave), and 'H' for holiday (weekends).

Half Day - HD

Sick Leave - SL

Paid Leave - PL

Vacation Duty - VD

Vacation - V

Monthly attendance summary displays total attendance of each staff member. In excel, google sheets etc; uses COUNTIF function to calculate total attendance.

Total working days calculated based on formula:- P+HD+L+VD+V+SL Taken + PL Taken

Timesheet Attendance Register:

  • It is used to record hours spent by employees in the workplace. 
  • Is a sheet of paper with data arranged in tabular format. Now, the timesheets have become digital.
  • In simple terms, timesheets are sheets for summarizing hours worked by each worker during a pay period.
  • It records the time of arrival / departure of workers and calculates the amount of time spent on each job.
